Artist: Jars of Clay
Album Name: The Long Fall Back To Earth
Label: Essential Records, Provident Label Group
Comments: It hard to believe Jars of Clay is releasing their tenth studio album. It just doesn’t seem that long ago that they gave us Flood (1995), which in my opinion is one of the all time best songs to come from a Christian band. I still love to hear that song and will drop in the CD from time to time.
Well time flies and this April 21st, 2009 Jars of Clay releases The Long Fall Back To Earth. This mega huge fourteen track album very much compares to Good Monsters (the bands previous release in 2006) but with more of a rock feel with some experiment sounds thrown in at times. Jars of Clay’s signature sound from lead singer Dan Haseltine has never been better and the vibrant lyrical pictures the songs paint are some of the bands finest work. The Long Fall Back to Earth focuses on relationships and community. I found that each song brings another nugget of truth to ponder as you listen making this album more of an experience than anything else.
The Long Fall Back To Earth is another classic and bold album from Jars of Clay that will both entertain you and touch your heart. I highly recommend this album.
