A relatively young company, ESP Company, Limited
has been making guitars and basses since forming the company in 1975.
ESP guitars are manufactured in North Hollywood, California. Started
in Tokyo and called Electric Sound Product or ESP for short, it primarily
provided custom parts for guitars. In time ESP began building their
own guitars for Japan. In the 80's, ESP guitars began to appear in
America in the hands of some very popular rock acts. Early adopters
include The Rolling Stones, Living Colour, Vinnie Vincent.
ESP moved
its headquarters to California in the 90's and continued to innovate with
its products.
